The Nene North Nank is a man made stretch of river just before it joins the tidal Nene. The sections will be in a line from the lock to the Millennium Bridge (the roadside). This section of the river is slow moving and deep, up to 14ft in the middle. Skimmers and bream will be the target in all three sections, although roach, perch, hybrids and bleak are also present.
Last year the river was clear & still, 55lbs of bream on the pole won the match with all three qualifiers using the pole to trick the fish into feeding. The normal feeder tactics could well be the way this year though if conditions are different, with the bream potentially showing up anywhere along the length.
As with last year, one qualifying place was taken with a modest 5lbs of silvers, so competitors should also bear that in mind.
Parking behind the pegs the whole stretch. Platforms and waders are required on the majority of pegs.

General Angling Trust rules
